Friends of The Pipe Factory is a unique charity, social and commercial partnership, committed to creating lasting change in the local community of Glasgow’s East end.
Our partnership
Friends of The Pipe Factory CIC was formed in March 2020 and brings together the knowledge and expertise of three organisations; Articulate Cultural Trust, INCH Architecture + Design and Strange Field in a shared ambition to form a permanent home that fuels the creativity that will generate pathways to pursue individual learning and development in the fields of art, architecture and design. With young people and our communities at its heart.
In March 2021, Friends of The Pipe Factory purchased the building as a community asset with a loan from Nesta’s Art and Culture Impact fund, and private social investors.
We could not have got to this point without the support of many more individuals and organisations who have donated so much time and energy.
Our first creative project is Barras 100, a year-long celebration of the 100th anniversary of The Barras market. Find out morehere.
